Error installing Motion Core 11.1.1

I’m trying to install Motion Core 11.1.1 but I get this error:
Execute: msiexec.exe /passive /norestart /i “C:\Program Files\D-BOX\Motion Core\Motion Engine\MotionEngine_Setup.msi”
Failed to install Motion Engine. Exit code: 1603

I did also try to uninstall old version and do clean install 11.1.1, but got same error.
I tested to run installer with “run as administrator” same result.

Luckily I have old 11.0.0 installer and that works.

OS is Windows 11 21H2 with latest updates.

Edit: Found the reason. WLAN AutoConfig service must be enabled.
Why do I need this service to be enabled to get 11.1.1 version to work !!!

Staff, comments ??

I’m fairly certain most of the people on this forum are bots

Yep, this forum seems to be useless for communicating with D-Box.

My question was not that complicated.

No, we’re humans that still don’t have the answer for you.

No bots here.

Is your rig Advanced Sim Racing? We have a similiar case of customer support with them. If not, please confirm who’s your rig/product provider.
Thanks!

Hi Amelie,

No, rig is my own design with Gen2 i3250 1.5" actuators.

It is irrelevant who’s rig it is.

The problem is the new 11.1.1 Motion Core where D-Box Motion Engine service depends Wlan AutoConfig service.

Wlan AutoConfig service needs to be either set to Automatic or Manual. If it is set to Disabled (like I had) Motion Core 11.1.1 installer would not complete the installation.

I really don’t understand why the D-Box Motion Engine service needs Wlan AutoConfig service.

When D-Box changes installation or software requirements, there really should be Readme.txt file where these changes are listed.

Here are screenshots of the installation error and D-Box Motion Engine service dependencies.

Hope this helps.

I’m not asking questions for fun  If I’m asking what rig you have, it might be revelant!
I’ve open a case with support for you: CCA-59007

Amelie,
Are we having some miscommunication error here ?
What do you mean by word rig ? If you mean complete turn key solution, where Advanced Sim Racing would supply everything, including pre-installed computer. Then it would make it relevant.

Usually rig is consider the actual “frame” + D-Box + other accessories (no pre-installed computer). In this case it really would be irrelevant who’s rig it is.

You can install Motion Core to yuor computer, even without D-Box actuators.

In D-Box help, it even says that plug D-Box usb cable in, after software installation.

Only other explanation that I can think off, is that D-Box supply different actuators for commercial “rig” makers and those works differently, though this seems higly unlikely.

If you have other info that would contradicts what I wrote, I would gladly hear it.

To be clear, my system is working now.

Other thing, in D-Box download section there is System Configurator software V3.1.0 and it says:
Software tool to modify the configuration and update the firmware of your G3 and G5 Haptic Systems

There is no mention about G2, does this work with G2 actuators?

Amelie, thanks for creating support ticket.

I got answer about the Motion Core installation issue.
Here is the answer for everyone else, if interested.

Support:
The dependency is required in Motion Engine, because our HEMC product controls the network configuration.

It’s a requirement that is not needed for our users using a desktop to control their system.

We are currently working to remove this dependency, without any promise of a date or version.

It should normally be removed in a future version of Motion Engine.
